Biography:

Randy Hoffman has extensive experience in the field of forensic accounting, litigation support and expert witness testimony. He has assisted in the return of over $40 million in assets to his clients since 2003. The recipient of the Ernst & Young Excellence in Teaching award, he is in his seventh year as a full-time lecturer at California State University, Fullerton, where he teaches managerial accounting to about 1,000 students each year. In 2011, his innovative course redesign led to a reduction in the rate of students retaking the course -- from 43% to 22%. His efforts were recognized by the 2013 CSU systemwide initiative to reduce bottlenecks in the curriculum. His managerial accounting course was one of just two accounting courses in t 23-campus CSU identified as having proven practices for successfully redesigned courses. In 2014, Hoffman’s managerial accounting course is one of eight Quality Online Learning and Teaching program awardees in the CSU. The program recognizes exemplary practices in CSU hybrid / online courses. In addition, he is a recipient of the University's Excellence in Teaching Award and a Mihaylo College of Business and Economics Instructional Innovation Award. Hoffman started his teaching career in 2002 as a member of Cal State Channel Islands’ inaugural faculty. He has extensive private industry experience, as the co-founder and CEO of Magellan Systems, a venture capital startup in GPS and as president of the Bushnell Division of Bausch & Lomb. He is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. He earned his MBA from Harvard and B.S. in business administration from USC.
