Biography:

Linking popular media to other forms of cultural production, Christina Ceisel's research focuses on identity formations within transnational popular culture. She has published on celebrity culture, nationalism, ethnic identity, tourism and foodways in such leading journals as Communication Theory, International Review of Qualitative Research and Cultural Studies ⇔ Critical Methodologies. Her forthcoming book, "Globalized Nostalgia," is being published by Routledge. She earned her Ph.D. from the Institute of Communications Research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a focus in cultural studies, transnational popular culture and qualitative methods. She holds an M.A. in social science from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in media studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
