Biography:

Dr. Parham's academic history includes an undergraduate degree in geology, a dissertation in integrative biology, and postdoctoral appointments at a genome center and the Encyclopedia of Life. His research answers questions about threats to biodiversity and evolution of biodiversity through empirical investigations involving fieldwork, comparative morphology, genetics and specimen-based research. His current research projects are targeted to solving problems in the Caribbean, South America, China, the Middle East and the U.S., especially California. As the faculty curator at the Cooper Center, he works with students on fossils from Orange County, especially marine vertebrates, such as marine mammals and sea turtles, and also terrestrial fossils.
