Biography:

Lindsey Engels is a licensed architect in Irvine, California, and a faculty member in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at California State University, Fullerton. She was also the managing adviser for "Team OC," the 2015 Orange County Solar Decathlon team. Previously, she was the Pacific Region representative for USGBC's Emerging Professionals and executive director for the Orange County Chapter, where she led efforts on the Davis Magnet School 'Greenovation' project in Costa Mesa. She is an advocate for affordable housing and green schools, and has been a Green Apple Day of Service volunteer and speaker. She was interviewed for the book "Becoming a Green Building Professional" by Holly Henderson (2012). In June 2010, USGBC recognized Engels as a "Rising Star" for her volunteer efforts. She graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a bachelor of architecture degree and a minor in sustainable environments. She currently specializes in sustainable architecture for civic and high-rise buildings.
