Biography:

Margie Brown-Coronel is associate professor of history at California State University, Fullerton. Her research focuses on the intersections of US Latina History and Public History. She teaches courses in U.S. history, history of the U.S. West and borderlands, U.S. women’s history, and public history. She has directed several public history projects exploring Latina activism in Southern California. Her manuscript in progress, titled "California Legacies, Popular Fantasies: History Making and Legacy Building in Southern California" examines how family memory made possible historical authority for Spanish-Mexican families in late 19th and early 20th centuries.
