Biography:

Gerard Beenen is a professor of management and expert on workplace motivation, learning and creativity, leadership and interpersonal skills, and leadership and organizational change. He previously served as both chair of the department of management, and associate dean in the College of Business and Economics at Cal State Fullerton. He also has an adjunct faculty appointment in the area of organization and management at UC Irvine, and is chair of the Management Education and Development Division of the Academy of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in organizational behavior and theory from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business, an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and an M.A. from Fuller Theological Seminary. His research has been published in leading journals such as Academy of Management Learning and Education, Human Resource Management, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and he serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Vocational Behavior and Academy of Management Learning & Education. Prior to his academic career, he was CEO of a cancer care center, co-founding vice president of a dot-com, and a management consultant with Bain & Co. and Ernst & Young.
