Biography:

L. Bobby Papoulias is a full-time lecturer in the Marketing Department of the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics. He currently teaches "Advanced Business Communications" (BUAD 301) and "Business Writing" (BUAD 201). In addition to teaching, Papoulias hosts workshops in e-mail etiquette and business writing for the Leadership Certificate Program at California State University, Fullerton in the Division of Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion. In 2017, students chose him to receive the Business Honors Program special award for Outstanding Professor. Papoulias earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications from Cal State Fullerton. He also earned a doctorate from Pepperdine University in organizational leadership, while focusing in business communication. In his early career, Papoulias was a marketing manager at a dot com for the largest online real estate company, Auction.com, where he oversaw the marketing for commercial real estate. After completing his doctorate during his time at Auction.com, he pursued a career teaching in higher education. Beyond working in the private sector and education, Papoulias also has worked as a consultant. In 2016 and 2017, he was hired by the city of Downey to help build curriculum for courses in its newly launched “Downey Made” Apprentice Program. In addition, he serves on the committee at the annual Downey Greek Food Festival as the marketing director, where he rebranded the festival’s image, and revamped its marketing and advertising efforts. The city of Downey has recognized him for three consecutive years (2015-2017) for his marketing role and for bringing in customers to the city during the annual food festival.
