Biography:
An Italian national, Dr. Monti first came to the U.S. as a foreign exchange student during the Carter administration. She earned a B.A., M.A., M.Phil and a Ph.D. in American studies from Yale University and an M.A. in communications/film studies from the University of Iowa. She knew she wanted to be a teacher since the age of 5. Dr. Monti serves as the faculty adviser for cinema and television arts majors. She lives with a cockatoo named Alba and describes Iceland as "the greatest country on earth."
