Biography:
Aitana Guia (Ph.D., 2012, York University, Toronto, Canada) is a social and political historian of modern Europe. Her areas of expertise are nationalism, migrants and minorities in post-war Europe. Before coming to Cal State Fullerton, Dr. Guia researched nativism as a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute (Florence, Italy). She has recently published her second monograph, The Muslim Struggle for Civil Rights in Spain: Promoting Democracy through Migrant Engagement, 1985-2010 with Sussex Academic Press.
