Biography:
Matthew P. Llewellyn is a professor of kinesiology and co-director of the Center for Socio-Cultural Sport and Olympic Research (CSSOR) at California State University, Fullerton. His primary research interests concentrate on the role of sport in the creation of modern societies, as well as the history of the modern Olympic Games. He has published over 30 essays and written or edited several books, including "The Rise and Fall of Olympic Amateurism" and "Rule Britannia: Nationalism, Identity and the Modern Olympic Games." He is the editor of the Journal of Olympic Studies.
