Biography:

Kristin J. Kleinjans holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in economics from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. Before joining the faculty at California State University, Fullerton, she had lived and worked in her native country of Germany, as well as in Colombia, Denmark and France. Her approach to economics is interdisciplinary, and incorporates insights from psychology and sociology in economic models to better explain individual behavior. She has used a wide variety of microdata sets in her research, including data from the U. S., Colombia, Denmark and the Netherlands. Her research has been published in highly ranked peer-reviewed academic journals, including the Journal of Applied Econometrics, Economics Letters, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and the Journal of Economic Psychology. Kleinjans has presented her research in the United States, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Sweden, including twice at the prestigious annual meetings of the American Economic Association.
