Biography:
Jeffrey A. Williamson has 20 years global marketing experience in the public and private sectors, having conducted business in more than 50 countries (China, Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East) in consumer electronics, consumer package goods, defense and medical products. In the private sector, he sold U.S. branded consumer products to leading mass merchants around the world. He currently provides the strategic leadership for the Centers for International Trade Development (www.citd.org) and the California State Trade and Export Promotion Program, which led over 400 California businesses in 40 overseas trade missions/exhibitions in the past three years, helping small exporters capture over $150 million in new business. In 2010, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed him to help lead international trade efforts for the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the predecessor to the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GoBIZ).
As a part-time lecturer in marketing for California State University, Fullerton’s School of Business and Economics, he teaches global marketing.
Williamson has appeared in over 100 news publications worldwide, and several live TV and radio interviews on CNBC Asia, Nightly Business Report, Channel News Asia, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal and others.
He has been a panel expert for the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., metropolitan export program; worked with UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business on the first study of the impact of services exports trade for California (2006); and received the President’s “E-Award” for export service excellence (2013). He is a member of the California Inland Empire District Export Council and the Los Angeles Regional Export Council. Williamson received a B.A. economics from Arizona State University and an MBA from California State University, Fullerton.
