Biography:
Nancy Watkins is an educator, leadership consultant, coach, and facilitator. She is an assistant professor at Cal State Fullerton and the Director of the Doctoral Program.She teaches educational leadership at the College of Education and pedagogy and leadership courses at several local colleges. Nancy Watkins graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Political Science and a minor in dance. She continued her education, earning a master’s degree in Public Policy from Claremont Graduate University and an Educational Leadership Doctorate (Ed.D.) from UC Irvine/CSU Joint Doctoral Program. Dr. Watkins specializes in leadership, educational policy, and educational access and opportunities.
Dr. Watkins was a K-12 educator for over 30 years, working and teaching in California public schools. Throughout her teaching career, Dr. Watkins took on leadership roles at the school site, district, and university levels. She has been honored as Teacher of the Year at both site and district levels and served on the Committee of Accreditation through the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing (CTC) from August 2007 to June 2015, working to ensure integrity in teacher preparation programs. In addition, she is a Fulbright Scholar and a presenter at several state and national conferences.
