Biography:

Rakeshkumar V. Mahto serves as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cal State Fullerton. He completed his Ph.D. in computer engineering from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Prior to that, he obtained his M.S. degree in electrical engineering in 2009 from Cal State Fullerton and a B.E. degree in electrical engineering in 2005 from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, in Surat, India. His research interests span multiple areas, including photovoltaics, design applications of FPGAs, low-power design, mixed-signal system design, hardware security, and RF electronics. He has received prestigious external grants, notably a $150,000 award from the California Education Learning Lab's AI FAST Challenge to integrate AI tools into semiconductor education. Additionally, he secured a CREATE grant from the CSU Chancellor's Office, supporting his innovative work in applying machine learning to predict student performance and identify at-risk students, thereby enhancing educational outcomes. In 2022, he held the position of Technical Program Committee (TPC) chair for the IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (Sustech). He also serves as a TPC member for both the IEEE International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED) and the IEEE Hardware-Oriented Security and Trust (HOST).
